Dublin

Dublin was founded by the Vikings in 832. Christ Church Cathedral marks the sport where the Vikings laid their first stones. The Norman Conquerors rebuilt Dublin in 1169. Trinity College was founded by Queen Elizabeth 1 in 1592.

Dublin changed dramatically in the mid 1990's in part due to the influx of large American companies who made their European headquarters in Dublin. Dublin is now one of the most liveable cities into the world.

Dublin is on the river Liffey which flows west to east. Canals ring the city centre and 15 bridges connect across the River Liffey. Temple Bar (Left Bank) is a popular area with visitors and has many shops, theatres and pubs.

Dublin has renowned theatre and taking in a show at the Abbey Theatre or Gate Theatre is a must.
